If 2021 had been a normal year, CISV Washington DC would have celebrated its 50th anniversary! But when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, right? So that’s what we’re doing, starting with this campaign.
The past 2 years have been particularly hard for CISV DC. Despite not being able to run international programs, the survival of our international and national organization required our financial support that was not compensated by participation fees. Looking forward, we have made commitments to host programs in 2022, 2023, and 2024. To make this possible financially we are setting an ambitious goal:
$50k for 50 Years
We hope to reach this goal by June 30, 2022, in time for the postponed 50th anniversary celebration we are planning for in July.
Gifts to CISV Washington DC, in any amount, will help us:
-
- support our 2022 “Remember Me” Youth Meeting program, and upcoming programs in 2023 (StepUp) and 2024 (Village);
- increase our scholarship fund to help families that want their children to have the CISV experience, but have difficulty paying;
- develop our program participants, leaders, and staff in becoming active global citizens; and
- continue developing and improving programs, camps, and events that are enjoyed each year by thousands of participants around the world.
